Compassionate & depth-oriented therapy in NYC

Moving beyond coping towards self-trust, clarity, and authenticity

Hi! I’m glad you’re here.

A therapist in New York City with long brown hair and blue eyes smiling outdoors

I'm Taylor (she/her), a licensed therapist who works with teens, adults, and couples navigating complex trauma, dissociation, challenging family dynamics, perfectionism, and burnout. While I have experience with several modalities, the majority of my training has focused on relational psychoanalytic therapy with children, adolescents, and adults, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples . I'm licensed in NY (#016363) and have my telehealth license in ID (#5271770).

While each person’s reason for seeking therapy is unique, my hope is that they’ll ultimately come to learn there is nothing fundamentally wrong with them. This doesn’t mean we don’t experience real pain or do hurtful things. Rather, much of our suffering comes from how we have learned to protect ourselves and the stories we have internalized about who we are and who we must be in the world. These protective mechanisms are evidence of our innate wisdom and resiliency, but without our attention and understanding, they can begin to impede our growth and connection to ourselves and others. The way I work generally stems from these ideas.

My Approach

  • Scenic landscape with mountains and lake with green water under cloudy sky.

    Psychodynamic

I believe that our early relationships and experiences inform how we relate to ourselves and others. Together, we’ll work to untangle your past and present and help you truly get to know yourself - all of you. Especially parts of you that continue to carry hurt, anger, and shame.

  • Snow-capped mountains with a modern house on grassy hills

    Relational

Therapy is, at its core, a relationship. We’ll use our therapeutic relationship as a window into other relationships in your life, and the relationship you have with yourself. Those I work with have expressed that they appreciate I’m not a “blank slate”. I’m an engaged, real person in the room.

  • Modern wooden cabin with large window, set in a mountainous landscape

    Trauma-informed

We will move at a pace that is appropriate to you, acknowledge how life circumstances and broader systems have impacted you, and over time help you regain a sense of safety and agency. I believe you, even if others have not, and even if you might not yet believe yourself.
